Marco Hydraulic Capstan
G-0800 type
This unit is not factory tagged, however it is just like the other
Marco capstans I have listed which are tagged as model G-0800
Those others show a ratio of 38.24:1 and a base pattern of 10" x 7", with a head
of 6.5".
They have performance of 4100
pounds at 87 feet per minute.
This unit is rebuilt with zero hours.
Vickers vane motor is a model M2-210-35-10-13. It has 3/4" ports on it.
Walvoil rotary spool control valve with a new handle
New 1/2" hydraulic hoses and fittings
All stainless steel bolts (except for the four that go through the motor)
All stainless steel pipe fittings, including fill elbow, drain and fill plugs (except for 1/8" gear
case vent which is mounted in the fill plug).
19.75" tall round pedestal base is a very heavy 8.5" O.D. steel pipe which has been white blasted, epoxy
primed and finished in white.
Has a 12" rope cleat welded and bolted onto it, under the spool, for tying off
dead line.
The base can be rotated at bottom mounting bolt pattern for a variety of
mounting angles and pull requirements
The bottom flange is 16.5" in diameter. The base bolt pattern is on a
12.5" center, 8 holes for 1" bolts.
The entire unit as pictured is 44.5" tall to the top of the
control handle.
If the handle were to be removed and mounted elsewhere, then the top of the
gearbox is the next highest item at 35.75".
It is 33" from the top of the drum to the floor.
The whole unit is 18.5" long and that is to the rear of the motor.
It weighs 375 pounds as it sits in the pictures.
Capstan gear box has been stripped down completely and bead
blasted to bare metal (aluminum) both inside and out.
Thoroughly cleaned, primer painted and finish coated in gloss white, (both
inside and out).
All new bearings, and seals inside.
All gear teeth like new with absolutely no rust or pitting, chips or measurable
wear. All shafting like new.
No brass gears or worm gears in this box.
Locktite thread sealant on all threads into gearbox.
Filled with 1 gallon of SAE 90.
Feed and return ports capped off to preserve system integrity.
The cathead is solid cast steel, the gear case is aluminum..
In it's previous life it was used on a research vessel to
raise a survey instrument from 6000'.
