Mercuiser Marine (200 HP @ 3600 rpm) diesel engine by VM (Italy). Internet sources say that VM is currently making the Cummins engines now being marketed by Mercruiser. This is a 6 cylinder, heat exchanger cooled engine with a Jabsco raw water pump. A new pump impeller (in package) is included but not installed so that the engine can be shop run for short periods. 12v starter and alternator, mechanical fuel injection and mechanical lift (primary) pump (cam driven, block mounted). The fuel and oil filters have been changed. New Shell Rotella-T 15-40W oil and new 50/50 anti-freeze. Fresh black paint. Has Mercathode and oil change hand pump. Oil pan previously had a small dent and tear at the very rear of it. I pulled the oil pan, (absolutley beautiful and clean pan and engine), dent was removed, pan was mig welded at the small tear, the exterior was bead blasted and the whole if it cleaned, primed, painted and re-installed. No leaks.
This engine was taken out of a 22' welded aluminum USCG Aids to Navigation boat built by SeaArk Marine. The hour meter reads 84.4 hours. The boat was converted to outboards. The asset turn in sheet gives the hours at 88.53. I do not know why these differ, but in either case, it isn't a lot of hours. The turn in sheet is photographed below. The USCG removed the engine, transom plate and outdrive fromt he boat and then stuck the engine back in the boat without the rear of it being supported by the transom plate, which is why the pan got torn by the narrow aluminum keel. It wasn't much, just enough to aggravate you. The turn in sheet indicates the engine needs a tune up. I don't see that. Perhaps they had an electrical or fuel problem in their installation. It starts, runs and idles great now. The cabin heater bypass hoses have been capped with rubber hose caps and the v-belt has been taken off the power steering pump so that the engine can be run without turning the pump, which is not hooked up the the steering cylinder currently, for obvious reasons. The belt is there, behind the alternator and all you have to do is cut some zip ties and stick it back into it's groove on the pulleys and tighten the adjustment on the power steering pump. The cabin heater bypasses are both on the starboard side of the engine, the starter side. One is near the turbo and the other near the expansion tank. The rubber caps are held on by hose clamps and can be easily removed and the clamps used to secure hoses going to the cabin heater, or you can run it like it is. Two fuel lines are required to run the engine. One hose would go from a bucket to the lift pump, the other would be a return line from the fuel injection pump back to the bucket. Currently these two ports on the engine are connected together with one hose so that nothings leaks inside the box. I will include the other hose needed, shipped loose inside the box. Simply disconnect one end of the installed hose and run it into the bucket and position the loose hose from the bucket to the other port. There are two hand primer pumps on the engine to prime the fuel system. One pump is on top the fuel filter and the other is on the bottom of the fuel lift pump. A manual lever on the top of the fuel injection pump is used to control the speed of the engine and another (on the side of the injection pump) is used to shut the engine down. I can mark (tag) all of these hoses and levers if you desire.
I also have the rest of the installation, including the Bravo II X diesel outdrive, the transom assembly, gimbel housing, dashboard gauges, controls and wiring harness (all for sale separately). Hour meter is in crate with engine and new pump impeller.
The unit has been professionally skidded and crated up with plywood. Crated it weighs 1265 pounds and is 51" long x 32.5" wide x 39.5" tall. I have a forklift and can load it onto any type of flatbed or box van. It ships from Broussard, LA 70518 as class 70 freight, under NMFC # 120790-02 . I can get shipping quotes for you.
Used engine, starts well, runs very well, no smoke at all, no leaks at all, no air bubbles in the expansion tank, no oil in the anti-freeze, no anti-freeze in the oil, no fluids on the ground, no wierd noises, fluids topped. I also put an oil gauge on it and it held 75 psi at idle (cool) and by-passes at 90 psi.
This is a used engine. While we believe that it is in good serviceable shape and we also believe that it will perfrom as it was designed, it is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS, without any warranties of any kind, express or implied except that we do warrant good, clear transferrable title.
